Hong Kong International Airport is known for its wonderful Cathay Pacific lounges. However, American Express also has its own Centurion lounge there. I’ve flown a lot but I never visited a Centurion lounge before so I was really excited about my first visit. The number of lounges of American Express has grown quite a lot over the past few years. Most of them are in North America and a few are in Europe. There is only one lounge in Asia which is located at Hong Kong International Airport.

American Express Centurion Lounge Access
At the reception desk, I was warmly welcomed. Access to the American Express Centurion Lounge is restricted to holders of qualifying American Express cards. Only Platinum and Centurion members are granted access. To gain entry, you must present your valid card, a government-issued ID, and a same-day boarding pass for a confirmed flight.

For Platinum Card members, you may only enter within three hours of your scheduled departure, unless you are connecting from a previous flight. Centurion Card members enjoy more flexible access including during layovers. Platinum members can bring one guest for free while Centurion cardholders can bring up to two guests for free. After showing my card, I made why way into the lounge.

The walk towards the seating area and bar gave me a nice view over the terminal. On my right hand were the business- and meeting room which I’ll review later on.
