Review: Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

The Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle is one of the major hotels you’ll find at this airport. As I had an early flight to catch with Etihad in business class on the A380 that day, I decided to travel to Charles de Gaulle Airport by train the day before. Read more about this trip in my trip intro I wrote about before. I decided to stay at the Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle since this hotel is centrally located at this airport. Although the location looked great, I also heard negative things about this hotel. Other travelers said the building was a bit outdated. That being said, the location was most important to me but I was curious what to expect. I’ve also heard great things about this hotel like the impressive atrium and the executive lounge.

Check-In

My TGV arrived at around 6pm at the nearby railway station which is located in terminal 2. All terminals are perfectly connected by the CDGVAL which is a monorail between the terminals. The Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle is located near terminal 3 which is 2 stops away from terminal 2. From the monorail station it is a 1 minute walk to the hotel.

The lobby looked spacious and beautiful. After having a look in the lobby I went to the reception desk where I was friendly greeted by the staff. Thanks to my American Express Platinum Card, I have Hilton Honors Gold status. Therefore, I got upgraded from a Guest Room to an Executive Room.

After getting the key cards I made my way to the elevators. On my way up I had a view at the impressive atrium with restaurant. It made me think of my stay at the Hilton Amsterdam Schiphol Airport I stayed earlier.

My room was located at the second floor. I noticed the building was indeed a bit outdated. I liked the decoration though.

I also liked how the rooms were indicated. I stayed in room 231 which is an Executive Room.

Executive Room

The room looked not bad I have to admit. I like how specious the room is, especially when knowing that most hotel rooms in Paris are not that spacious. Although, this is not in the center of Paris of course.

I liked the light decoration around the bed. On each side of the bed, you’ll find a reading light. On the left side there is an alarm clock and on the left side a phone.

In front of the bed, there is a desk with chair. The television was on the desk which is a bit ‘old’ in 2026. Televisions are nowadays placed on the wall. Next to the desk, there was also a luggage rack.

On the left side of the bed, I found the tea and coffee facilities. There is also a minibar below but unfortunately this was empty.

On the right side of the tea and coffee facilities, there is a closet where I also found a bathrobe and slippers.

I wasn’t that disappointed so far. Also the wifi in the room and at other places in the hotel building turned out to be working good.

Bathroom

The bathroom was a bit of another story. Here I clearly noticed the room was not created during the current decade. Everything was of good quality though. You’ll find a sink, toilet, bathtub and shower here.

The products in the bathroom were from Crabtree & Evelyn. I found enough towels and everything looked really clean. Unfortunately, there is no rain shower.

The toilet is located in front of the shower cabin and next to the bathtub. Also here everything look clean.

Executive Lounge

The Executive Lounge can be found in the lobby of the hotel in front of the reception. Next to the lounge, you’ll find a little shop. Acces is granted to Hilton Honors Diamond members and those who are staying in an Executive Room. The lounge is open from 6am until 10pm daily.

Happy hour is between 6pm and 8pm. Since I visited the lounge at 7pm, I also had access to the buffet with happy hour snacks and drinks. The lounge itself looked blue as blue color was used as light decoration.

The lounge is specious and offers lots of seating options. Just after the entrance, you’ll find comfortable seats facing each other. Further into the lounge, there are also seats with tables which are perfect to work on with a laptop.

When in comes to the food and beverages, I was quite surprised. I started with a soup and then grabbed some snacks. The snacks consists of chicken and meat.

Next to the snacks, I found the alcoholic beverages. I went for a red wine and also grabbed some chips. Below the wine, there is a fridge with non-alcoholic beverages.

After spending some time in the lounge while having some pre dinner snack, I made my way to the restaurant which is located in the atrium of the hotel.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served daily from 6am until 10:30am. You’ll find the breakfast in the atrium of the hotel, at the same place were dinner is served. Breakfast is complimentary for Gold and Diamond members.

Guests can choose from a wide variety of fresh pastries, including buttery croissants and pain au chocolat, reflecting classic French breakfast traditions. There is also a selection of breads, cereals, yogurt, and fresh fruit for lighter options.

Hot dishes such as scrambled eggs, sausages, and bacon are available for those who prefer a more filling start to the day.

On the other side, you’ll find the cold dishes like cucumber and tomatoes. This section is ideal for guests looking for a lighter or more balanced start to the day, and it pairs naturally with items like cheese, cold cuts, or bread from the nearby buffet stations.

I grabbed another cappuccino and decided to have a look at what other facilities this hotel had to offer.

Other Facilities

The Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle has all the facilities you’d expect from a normal Hilton hotel. Think of meeting rooms, a concierge service and a gym.

Read more about the facilities at the website of the hotel. After viewing the hotel a bit, I made my way to the room to grab my luggage and then checked out. I walked to the monorail station just a few minutes later I arrived in terminal 1 where Etihad is located nowadays.

Bottom Line

Although the hotel looked a bit outdated, I had a pleasant stay here. I liked the location in the middle of the airport which was perfect for me since I had an early flight to catch. I certainly liked the atrium and the executive lounge.

The room itself was great, although I could hear lots of noise during my stay. I’m a bit more negative about the bathroom which was definitely outdated and there was no rain shower.

Apart from that, I can definitely recommend this hotel if you have to stay at Charles de Gaulle Airport for a night. You’ll be surprised how centrally located the hotel is and you’ll have a great time in the Executive Lounge here.
