Located along the southern part of the peninsula, the Conrad Bali is 5 star luxury resort with beachside pools and extensive gardens in Bali, Indonesia. The four and five-level buildings are ultra-modern and all rooms are offering superb views on the gardens and pools, while the some suites are more likely to offer genuine ocean views. The extensive gardens and wide pools with direct beach access makes this a perfect resort for leisure travelers, specially for families as the resort offers an excellent kids club. Conrad Bali is located in an area with plenty of shops, cafés and water-sport activities, about 45 minutes driving from the airport. About 1,5 years ago, I had a stay at the Hilton Bali Resort which I really enjoyed. This time, I decided to give the Conrad Bali a try.

How I Booked My Stay At Conrad Bali

I stayed at the Conrad Bali for one night and paid 1,851,300 Rupee (about $ 125.60 USD) which is a decent price during low season. I booked the advanced purchase rate about one month before and saved 25% during the Asia Pacific Sale. Also I paid an additional 1,035,410 Repuee (about $ 70.25 USD) for all the expensive during my stay at the resort, including my taxi back to the airport. The prices below are for a night in one month from now and come with an additional 10% tax.

As a Diamond member, I earned a total of 6,318 Hilton Honors points for this stay, including 2,000 points as part of the Points Unlimited promo. I also could have redeemed Hilton Honors points for my stay. However, this isn’t a hack of a deal since the Conrad Bali uses a dynamic award char. This means that the number of points needed for a stay depends on the actual revenue rate of that specific day.

Conrad Bali Lobby And Check In

I arrived at the resort by taxi at around 1pm. After a 45 minutes drive from the airport, I entered the lobby’s which is located on the third floor. I directly was warmly welcomed at the resort and was asked to take a seat as all the receptionist were busy checking in guests.

The lobby itself looked spacious and also has a roof terrace with view over the pool area and beach. Once I took a seat, I was offered a wet towel and welcome drink, called Tamarine which tasted not bad at all. This is part of the service in a Conrad hotel. After about 10 minutes, I could take a seat at the check in desk.

The check in agent welcomed me as a Diamond member and thanked me for my loyalty. As I wrote an email to the hotel before, the agent was informed about my request for an upgrade to a suite. However, only a twin suite with 2 double beds was available. Of course, I didn’t mind at all and was delighted that I could stay in a suite! After I gave my credit card for a deposit, the agent explained what the facilities look like as a Diamond member. Also I received a welcome letter with all the details. I will dive deeper in this later in this review. I received my key card and a bell boy accompanied me to my suite which was a 10 minutes walk from the lobby.

Once arrived at my suite, the bell boy welcomed me home and gave a short introduction what facilities the suite had. The living room featured a table with four chairs while the sitting area was equipped with two sofas and one char. The living room looked modern and was nicely designed with paintings and mirror on the wall.

The living room was separated from the bed room by two slide doors. Facilities in the living room include a T.V., a balcony and a kitchen with minibar and coffee and tea maker. The minibar included some snacks and beverages but was not fully stocked as I’m used to in Conrad hotels. The balcony features some chars and one table and offered a view on the garden.

Conrad Bali Twin Suite Bedroom

The bedroom featured two double beds. On the left side of the beds, I found my mascot that they usually give in Conrad hotels. The one in Singapore is a lion and at the Conrad Bali turned out to be a monkey, so cute! The room was nicely decorated with lights on each side of the bed and featured a window with garden view as well as a second T.V. on the wall. Hilton provides free wifi to Honors members who are booking directly. Everywhere in the hotel, I was satisfied with the speed.

Conrad Bali Twin Suite Bathroom

The marble bathroom looked very elegant and specious and featured a double sink. Here I found almost every possible amenity needed for a comfortable stay in a Conrad hotel. The bathroom also features a bathtub with shower and T.V., a toilet and walk-in shower room with both a hand held shower head and rain shower. Between the bedroom and bathroom is a closet with iron, safe and additional space for storage.

Conrad Bali Pool Area

The Conrad Bali has some huge pools and some rooms even have direct access to the pool. At the main pool, I found most of the deck chairs. While cocktails and snacks can be ordered on the bar, the staff will be happy to serve you on your seat. The pool area is directly connected to the beach. At the beach, you find more chairs and there is also the possibility to book activities like jet skie there.

Conrad Bali Suites Lounge

The Suites Lounge was a few minutes walking from my suite. You have access to this lounge as a Hilton Honors Diamond member of when staying in a suite. Please note that access to the Suites Lounge is only for guests 12 years old and above. Conrad Bali may change the policy for lounge access so always double check at the reception or when making the reservation. The lounge is divided into two parts and you can either sit outside or inside. The first thing I saw was a swimming pool with cabanas.

Afternoon tea at the lounge is from 3pm till 5pm daily. I wasn’t sure about what to expect here so just took a seat and waited what would happen next. I was offered a menu and was asked what to drink so I ordered a cappuccino. A few moments later, I was brought a whole selection of snacks which was presented in a very nice way. The waiter even explained what each snack was all about.

The second floor of the lounge isn’t that interesting until Cocktail Hour starts at 5pm. Note that breakfast isn’t served in the lounge during low season. During the rest of the day, you will find a decent selection of cookies, nuts as well as coffee and tea. I was quite surprised in a positive way about the evening snack buffet with sushi. No clue if this has something to do with the large number of Japanese guests but really enjoyed it. I decided to take a seat outs and ordered a Blue Lagoon cocktail.

Restaurants

The main breakfast is served in the SUKU restaurant which is located below the lobby. The breakfast buffet is open from 7am till 10:30am daily and offers a wide selection of food and beverages. During my stay, the resort wasn’t that crowed and this certainly has to do something with low season as well as the spread of the Coronavirus. That’s why not many seats were taken at the breakfast buffet. The food itself was tasty and exactly what I was expecting in a Conrad hotel.

The Conrad Bali has a total of three restaurants. As I had breakfast at the SUKU restaurant, I decided to have dinner at the RIN restaurant. Note that apart from the Suites Lounge, afternoon tea can also be enjoyed at the RIN restaurant. The menu offered a bunch of choices but I went for the Nasi Goreng that was served with several toppings and snacks. For drink, I went for a red wine. For dessert, I went for ice scream.

Other Facilities

The Conrad Bali offers all the facilities that you should normally expect from a 5 star resort like a concierge service in the lobby, a tennis court, a fitness, a kids club, a souvenir shop and a bike rental shop where guests can book bike tours to explore the island. Also spa and massage are offered at the resort. However, the main area for spa was under renovation during my stay.

Conrad Bali Bottom Line

I really enjoyed my stay at the Conrad Bali and I have to say that this certainly is one of the best resorts I stayed at in Bali. The experience at a Conrad hotel is just a step further than at a standard Hilton resort. A welcome drink is offered in the lobby and a bell boy accompanies you to your room or suite. During my stay, the resort wasn’t that crowed and this certainly was due to the spread of the Coronavirus and the low season. Everywhere at the resort, I experienced a great and friendly service. All my questions were answered in such a friendly way and with a smile. I liked the Suites Lounge with private pool and cabanas on the side. I definitely enjoyed cocktail hour here.

The resort offers so many facilities like a pool area with direct access to the beach, a fitness club, a tennis court and 3 restaurants that there is no reason to actually leave the resort. A few years ago, I stayed at the Hilton Bali Resort and I find it difficult to make a comparison between the two resorts. I would say that the Hilton Bali Resort is less expensive with a nicer setting but the Conrad Bali is a more modern and bigger resort. I definitely can recommend a stay at the Conrad Bali. The resort has so much to offer that there is no reason to get bored here.
